Pietersite Pendant


A beautiful example of blue/grey pietersite. Only discovered in the 1960s pietersite is a rare member of the tigers eye family. This beautiful pendant and it’s moody blue hues reminds us of the planet Neptune.

Faceting around the edges of the pendant catch the light and show the variations of colour within the stone.

A simple traditional Nepali style sterling silver setting compliments the stone.

Pietersite is one of the rarest stones and is only found in one mine complex in Namibia, Southern Africa. It was discovered in 1963 by a farmer prospecting for gold and ever since it has been one of the most sought after gemstones. It is a member of the Tiger’s Eye family of stones and is a real connoisseur/collector’s stone.
